The 27th annual Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger® Food Drive
Help support the largest one-day food drive in America! On Saturday, May 11, place a bag (or bags) of non-perishable food for your letter carrier to take to a local food pantry. Community Resource Center will be the recipient of items that come to the Encinitas and Solana Beach post offices.
Due to a lack of funding in our region, the letter carriers were not able to distribute enough grocery bags last year, so we received less donated food than normal – 16,500 pounds versus 26,000 pounds in 2017. Unfortunately, this resulted in less food for us to provide to local families in need. This food is a vital resource for replenishing our food pantry with essential supplies!
Can you help restock our pantry by donating towards the postal food drive? Your donation can help secure enough bags for residents in the Encinitas and Solana Beach communities, which will mean more donated food … If we can receive 26,000 pounds of food again this year, we can help provide over 21,000 meals to those who struggle with food insecurity in our community.
If you are a current volunteer, please contact Sheri at HBVolunteer@crcncc.org to sign up. If you have not signed up to volunteer yet, please complete our online application at this link and note “Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive” as your assignment preference.
